About Harrodsburg, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Harrodsburg, Kentucky is a city found in Mercer County. It serves as the county seat and was home to roughly 8,400 people as of the 2010 census. Harrodsburg is considered Kentucky’s oldest city, and it has also been acknowledged as the oldest permanent settlement west of the U.S. Appalachians. The Mercer County School District – including Mercer County Senior High School – provides public education to the community, and major economic players here include Hitachi Automotive Products and Corning Incorporated.

Harrodsburg and the rest of Mercer County offer a wealth of things to see and do. The Beaumont Inn is a Kentucky landmark and is the state’s oldest family-operated inn. The Bright Leaf Golf Resort offers 36 holes of golf, including a championship 18-hole course. History enthusiasts may like to check out Old Fort Harrod State Park, which offers a full-scale replica fort to showcase how the community got its start. Agritourism is also popular in Harrodsburg, and interesting destinations include Black Watch Alpacas, Terrapin Hill Farm, and Devine’s Farm and Corn Maze.

Whether visiting or residing in Harrodsburg, it is important to be prepared for varied weather conditions. Summers here are quite humid with high temperatures. Daily highs average at about 86 degrees Fahrenheit in July, although higher temperatures into the 90s are also common. While central air conditioning has historically been the most popular cooling system in the area, ductless mini-split systems are being seen more often. These systems remove the need for air ducts, eliminating the energy loss associated with ductwork for more affordable operations.

Winter weather is significantly different than the conditions experienced throughout the rest of the year. Temperatures are cold, and average daily highs only reach the low-40s during the month of January. While the region doesn’t recent much snowfall, rain and freezing temperatures can lead to dangerous conditions, especially without the right gas or electric furnace in place at home.
