About Versailles, KY - Happy to be your hometown Heating & Air Conditioning Contractor!

Versailles, Kentucky is a city found in Woodford County near Lexington. As of 2010, about 8,600 people resided here, and the community is known for its small-town feel with convenient urban access. Founded in 1792, Versailles was named for Versailles, France to honor General Lafayette. It is located with Kentucky’s Inner Bluegrass Region and is home to many thoroughbred farms, including Woodburn Stud, WinStar Farm, and Lane’s End Farm.

Known for its beautiful countryside and love of bourbon, horseracing, and wine, Versailles is a popular place to both live and work. Visitors may enjoy an afternoon wandering through one of the city’s many antique shops, such as Irish Acres Gallery of Antiques, or a night at a historic bed and breakfast. The Woodford Reserve Distillery is located here and offers tours, and horse lovers might like an excursion to one of the many thoroughbred farms, some of which are home to prominent Kentucky Derby winners.

Found within the northern boundary of the U.S. humid subtropical zone, summers in Versailles are hot and humid. July is the hottest month of the year, and average daily high temperatures reach just over 86 degrees Fahrenheit. These muggy conditions highlight the need for proper home cooling systems throughout the season. Residents are wise to select a central air conditioner with a high SEER rating, which will keep cooling costs affordable. While the State of Kentucky mandates that air conditioning systems have a SEER rating of at least 14, higher-rated systems are also available.

Winter weather is vastly different from summertime conditions. Temperatures are moderately cold with average daily highs in the low-40s. Overnight lows often fall into the 20s during January, so it is crucial that residents have a reliable gas or electric furnace at home. These systems will also ensure that home pipes and plumbing systems don’t freeze when temperatures plummet.
